Warranty Vault Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-08-02

Warranty Vault ("the app", "we") is a home-inventory and warranty tracker built to respect your privacy. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data. It is written to be honest and plain, not to be long.

The short version

Warranty Vault does not collect, transmit, sell, or share what you record, and we run no server of our own. Everything you enter stays on your device unless you choose to turn on backup or export a file.

What data the app stores

The belongings you track — name, category, price, purchase date, warranty length, return window, store, room, tags, notes — and the photos you attach are stored only in an encrypted database and an app-private folder on your device. We never see any of it. By default it is never uploaded anywhere: Warranty Vault has no server and requires no account.

Photos you attach are copied into the app's own private storage. They are not added to your photo gallery and are not visible to other apps.

Deleted items go to Trash and are recoverable for 30 days, after which they are removed for good.

Camera and photo access

The app asks for camera or photo-library access only when you choose to attach a photo to an item. It reads the single image you pick. It never scans your library, and the permission can be declined — the rest of the app still works.

Optional backup (only if you turn it on)

Data we do NOT collect

App lock

You can lock the app behind your device's biometrics or passcode. That check is performed by your device; the app never receives or stores your fingerprint, face data, or passcode.

Notifications

Warranty-expiry and return-window reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Nothing is sent through a server.

Exports you choose to share

If you use the Pro PDF or CSV inventory report, the file is created on your device and shared only through the share sheet you explicitly invoke (for example, to send it to your insurer). We are not involved in that transfer.

The shareable progress card shows only how many items you track and the app name — never any item, price, or photo.

Purchases

Optional Pro features are sold through the Apple App Store / Google Play (via RevenueCat). Those platforms process the payment; Warranty Vault never sees your payment details.

Warranty information is a reminder, not advice

Category warranty lengths are common defaults you can edit, and the app's reminders are for your convenience only. They do not create, extend, or prove any warranty or return right. Always check the terms from your retailer or manufacturer.

Children

Warranty Vault is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
