PlantKept Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-08

PlantKept ("the app", "we") is a plant-care reminder built to respect your privacy. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data. It is written to be honest and plain, not to be long.

The short version

PlantKept does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your data. Everything you enter stays on your device.

What data the app stores

The plants you add — name, species, room, care schedules, notes — your care history, and the photos in your plant journal are stored only in an encrypted database and app-private storage on your device. We never see this data. It is never uploaded to a server, because PlantKept has no server and no user accounts.

Data we do NOT collect

Photos

Plant photos you add are copied into private app storage on your device and are used only inside the app. They are never uploaded.

Notifications

PlantKept schedules care reminders locally on your device using the operating system's alarm/notification features. These reminders are generated on-device and are not sent through any server.

Exports you choose to share

If you use the Pro CSV/PDF export, the file is created on your device and shared only through the share sheet you explicitly invoke (e.g. to email it to yourself). We are not involved in that transfer.

Purchases

Optional Pro features are sold through the Apple App Store / Google Play (via RevenueCat). Those platforms process the payment; PlantKept never sees your payment details.

Children

PlantKept is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
