CarKept ("the app", "we") is a car maintenance log built to respect your privacy. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your data. It is written to be honest and plain, not to be long.
CarKept does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your data. Everything you enter stays on your device.
The vehicles you add — nickname, make/model/year, odometer, photo — plus your service history, fuel fill-ups, costs, shops, notes, and receipt photos are stored only in an encrypted database and app-private storage on your device. We never see this data. It is never uploaded to a server, because CarKept has no server and no user accounts.
CarKept schedules service-due reminders locally on your device using the operating system's alarm/notification features. These reminders are generated on-device and are not sent through any server, and are only ever about your own vehicles — never marketing.
Vehicle and receipt photos you attach are copied into app-private storage on your device. They are never uploaded anywhere and are removed when you delete the associated vehicle or service entry.
If you export a service-history PDF or CSV, the file is created on your device and shared only through the share sheet you explicitly invoke (e.g. to email it to yourself, a buyer, or a mechanic). We are not involved in that transfer.
Optional Pro features are sold through the Apple App Store / Google Play (via RevenueCat). Those platforms process the payment; CarKept never sees your payment details.
CarKept is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
